We're protesting the new business, Sacramento Gun Club, a 40,000 square foot indoor shooting range and retail gun store, moving into 3443 Routier RD, in Rancho Cordova, CA.
This address is within 252 FEET of an existing high school, the George Washington Carver School of Arts and Sciences at 10101 Systems Parkway (at the corner of Routier RD and Systems Parkway).
Directly ACROSS the street from the Sacramento Gun Club is Lincoln Village Park, with its swimming pool, children's play area, tennis courts, bbq area, and the Neil Orchard Senior Citizens Center.
Just north of the Sacramento Gun Club is the Quail Pointe Apartment Complex, and north of the apartments, is the Mayhew Community Baptist Church.
Plus, this neighborhood has a "high density" (according to the City of Rancho Cordova) of single family homes.
The Sacramento Gun Club is presently scheduled to be open from Monday through Sunday, from 9am to 9pm.
According to the Rancho Cordova City Planner, this new business is a legal business and it required no special notice or opportunity for public comment BEFORE it was approved.
A neighbor find out by accident that the new business was moving in, and notified the neighbors about the situation.
The GWCarver students (and their parents); teachers and administrators; and the neighbors have formed an action group to protest this new business moving in.
Please, if you haven't already had the opportunity, sign our online petition at:
